Thank you to everyone for working hard trying to log in on Reading Pro. Being the first class to go on means we are having a few technical issues! I have now added a link to the website on the school website. If you go into parents and newsletters there is a link to Reading Pro at the bottom of the page.
Fingers crossed this will work!
This week we have been busy writing our stories for our next ‘We are Writers book’. The Theme this year is Amazing Amimals and we have we have come up with some incredible ideas.
The finished stories will be typed up over the next week so that the book can be published over half term. We will have the very first copy of the book at our book fayre in November.
The results are in from the Summer Fayre and records have been broken! All of the teams have done incredibly well and have made huge profits from their £20 investment.
The teams made the following amounts –
Challengerz - £97.85
Angry Joes = £84.82
Disney Divas - £149.16
Groovy Smoothies - £80.75
This means every team at least quadrupled their investment. After taking off the £80 given out they made a total of £332.58 profit. Not bad for an afternoons work! Well done to all the teams and a huge thank you to all the help, time and effort that was given by the friends and families of the teams.
Youth Enterprise has started again for 2015 and our four teams are busy researching products and coming up with team names and logos. Details of team names and what they will be selling will be available soon!
A massive congratulations to Porthcawl Power our school F1 team. The South Wales final took place at the Celtic Manor on Monday and they were a real credit to the school. They did a great job in all the interviews and presentations and received many positive comments. Even the First Minister Carwyn Jones AM was impressed by our Pit Lane!
The school won the Best School Image Category which was a combination of our car design, logo and the amazing team overalls kindly supplied by Autobarnes and BMW. The pupils were presented their prize and medals by the BBC news reader Rebecca John. The car was also really quick and was sixth fastest out of 24 cars.
Well done team for all your great achievements!
